THE SERVICE BOARD PINEWOOD DERBY FUNDRAISER!
By Nick Meilleur, Seattle, WA: Our friends at The Piranha Shop are putting together a great fundraiser for one of our favorite causes, The Service Board on April 19th. But, hurry, registration ends March 31st for the Pinewood Derby Races.
“Step into the world of Pinewood Derby Drag Racing, you and your team will have the chance to create the fastest car you can. Get crafty and innovative with your garage tech so you can shine on the track, so make sure to muster up your inner speedster and do what you need to do to leave your opponents in the dust!”
The Pinewood Derby Race will be $100 buy in for a car with teams of up to 5, fully tax deductible. Team names are encouraged! There will be all sorts of prizes provided by a huge list of sponsors including the Fremont Collective that consists of evo, The Whale Wins, Joule, and All Together Skatepark so you won’t want to miss this one. First place comes not only with a plethora of goods but also bragging rights! Registration ends March 31st so don’t sleep on it, register here> !
Derby kits will be delivered April 3rd. That gives you two weeks to design, paint, and engineer the fastest car in the Pacific Northwest before the race on April 19th. There will also be prizes for best paint, most unique car, and crowd favorite!
Race Day Schedule:
Team check in – 3pm
Racing starts – 4pm
Racing will commence until roughly 9 or 10 pm depending on the amount of cars
Awards ceremony will happen immediately following final race, and The Hawks Nest at Century Link Field will be open for race day with food and drink available for all ages during the race time.
The Service Board mentors teens to conquer personal and cultural challenges through public service and outdoor adventure. They’re a great group of people so don’t miss out on this chance to help them out!
